Committees

Worship and Education:The Worship and Education Committee works with the Minister, the Organist-Music Director, the Director of the Youth Chorus, and the Church School Superintendent, to meet the needs of those attending our Worship Services, and to provide a safe learning experience for the children attending our Church School.
The children accompany their parents or caregivers in the Sanctuary for the first part of the Worship Service before leaving for their classes.

Mission:The members of the Mission Committee enjoy each other’s company as they meet monthly to give guidance and direction to the mission work of Knox Dundas.
Their many interests range from encouraging and managing gifts to the Food Bank in Dundas, to participating in the region-wide service by the Wesley Centre in Hamilton, to assisting the Eco Churches of West Hamilton to produce regular environmental newsletters.
Organizing popular concerts held in our well over our century-old Church Sanctuary is also aimed to serve the needs of our community.

Finance and Maintenance: This group of dedicated people is responsible for the care and maintenance of our three buildings, the financial affairs of Knox, and to liaise with “Today’s Family”, our day care centre, that is located in our buildings.

Other Groups at Work at Knox:

Bereavement Team – Serves refreshments following funeral services held at Knox.

Bible Study Groups - Two Groups meet regularly, one is led by the Minister, one by lay people.   

Blessings Dinner Team – Serves monthly evening dinners to those in our community who find this service most welcome.

Church Choir – Meets weekly to prepare for worship services.

Church Library Team – Acquires fiction, non-fiction, religious books, and audio-visual materials for lending.   

Church School – Meets weekly from September to June during part of the worship hour.

Discovery Group – This widows support group meets monthly for speakers, events and outings.           

Pastoral Care Team –This team focuses primarily on the needs of our seniors and shut-ins.

Eco Churches of West Hamilton –This team works with other area Churches to provide a Christian perspective to environmental issues.

Friendship Club – Has served Knox with social, educational, and monetary resources for nearly 50 years.   

Mom-to-Mom Sale – Provides members of our community with opportunities to sell and buy homemade creations and items no longer needed.

Nursery – Ensures babies and toddlers are lovingly cared for while parents and caregivers attend Sunday worship.

Session – This elected board of Knox meets monthly to manage the spiritual and practical affairs of Knox.

Stephen Ministry – This team befriends those who go through a difficult time in their life and are in need of a friend to talk things over with.    

Website Development – This team develops and maintains the content of this website.

Women’s Missionary Society – Funds and promotes the mission work of the Church at the local, national, and international level.

Youth Chorus – Provides weekly music at our worship services from September to June.
